The Blarney Stone is a block of bluestone
that lives in Blarney Castle and is world-renowned for it’s alleged magical
properties. Legend states that those brave enough to kiss the Blarney Stone are
blessed with the “gift of the gab”. Gab is a trait marked by one’s
eloquence with words, wit and ability to use humor to win people over.
Who wouldn’t want that?
In hot pursuit of gab, we made a day trip to Blarney.
Blarney Castle and it’s extensive
grounds is only 8 kilometers (5 miles) outside of Cork, Ireland. You can
take a quick journey on the 224 Bus from Cork’s main bus station. The Bus will
get you to the quaint town of Blarney in a short 25-30 minutes.
While Kissing the Stone was the
reason we made the trip to Blarney Castle, my favorite part was touring the
mossy castle interior and learning about the history.
The view from the top of Blarney Castle. In the distance is the family's modern estate.
Here I am kissing the Blarney Stone.
While I can’t say whether or not I left Blarney with a better mastery of words, our visit to Blarney Castle and the darling town of Blarney was one of my favorite places in Ireland.
The Blarney Castle grounds are breathtaking and boost lesser known legends that promise to make your dreams come true. Up next on a house mouse, the "Wishing Steps" and "Witch's Rock" in the Rock Close located within Blarney Castle Grounds.
Highly
recommended experience to add to your “Bucket list”.

This looks and sounds like a fantastic place for a great day out!
what a beautiful place to visit. even if you weren't blessed with the "gift of gab", the magic from the experience was worth it!
Great pictures!! I love all the moss growing on the walls. My kind of place to wander.
