Cake & Champagne Tasting :: Wedding Prep

Strike another thing off of our Wedding to do list.

 We did a 'cake tasting' for the Wedding on Sunday.  Proving once & for all that Wedding planning can be fun!
We tried the following cake flavors: lemon/vanilla, raspberry/vanilla, carrot cake, chocolate/chocolate, chocolate/raspberry & peanut butter/chocolate. 
Naturally I could not resist the urge to design the "event". So we popped the bubbly under the sweet blooms of a very early blooming lilac tree & got down to business!

Obviously it's a hard-knock life for us!

So excited to be working with our dear family friend: Peggy Dean. She is a very talented Baker, and a lovely woman to boot! Thanks Peggy for making the most delicious cake & for embracing my design ideas with open arms!

We plan on a three tiered rectangle cake with white butter frosting & will add seasonal fruit as decoration.  For the curious, here are the flavors we chose:

  • Tier one: Peanut butter/Chocolate
  • Tier two: Carrot Cake
  • Tier Three: Chocolate/Chocolate & Chocolate/Raspberry.
